What's New in the Travel Industry in 2019?

Are you always searching for the next new thing in travel? Many of our clients are - and 2019 is bringing some exciting new offerings! From brand-spanking new beachfront all-inclusive resorts, to the most innovative, award-winning new cruise ships, we see it all! Below are several of our favorite new things for 2019! You can hear more about these and SO MUCH MORE during our 3rd Annual Land, Sea, & Air Travel Show on Saturday, March 23, 2019!

Virgin Voyages

Perhaps the most anticipated arrival in recent ship-building memory, the new Virgin Voyages product is causing waves (pun intended) with its anticipated 2020 arrival. It’s adults-only., high-energy, is building out an amazing private beach club in the Bahamas (think celebrity DJ’s), and is the brainchild of one of the planet’s most serial entrepreneurs and hippest residents, Sir Richard Branson. Virgin’s flagship vessel, The Scarlet Lady, starting with Cuba sailings in 2020, just went on sale in February with some great offers!

Celebrity Edge

In an age when most lines are pushing out bigger and bigger cruise ships - and ultimately sacrificing service to do so - the Celebrity Edge is a breath of fresh air. “Just” 129,500 tons and holding less than 3,000 passengers, it is perfect for our clients that love innovative, new ships, but without a small city sailing with them. The best feature may be the so-called "Magic Carpet". It's an orange moving platform that forms an extension to the ship and moves up and down along the ships side, between decks 2 and 16 - an awe-inspiring spot for that special dinner, drinks, or simply an exterior journey to your shore-bound tender. The Edge is already sailing the Eastern and western Caribbean this winter - and heads to the Mediterranean this summer.

Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos

If you know our team at all, you KNOW how much we love the Hard Rock Hotels brand! We’ve traveled to all of them in the Caribbean, written blog posts about them, and recommend the brand to everyone from couples to families to singles getaways to those seeking a great destination wedding spot. Cabo is Hard Rock’s newest destination, with the property set to open this summer. With rooms & suites ranging from the 522 sq.ft. Deluxe Platinum room to the amazing 3,500 sq.ft. 2BR Rock Star Suite, 8 restaurants, 5 pools and all the action you could want, our clients are sure to love it!

Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda

The new “5-Trident” Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda, set on the northeastern coast of the Dominican Republic is the largest Caribbean project for Club Med in 40 years, with a planned debut in December 2019. Set on 93-acres about 90 minutes from the Punta Cana airport, this amazing, all-inclusive eco-chic resort offers up four boutique villages with themes of romance, adventure, and wellness all offering their own specialized environments and activities. Right now, there are some fantastic rates out there for December 2019, and the spring of 2020!

Silversands Grenada

While Grenada isn’t usually the first place our clients think of for their Caribbean getaway, that is sure to change a bit with the opening of this property! This is especially true for those clients that have visited the larger islands in the region, and are looking for a smaller, more authentic Caribbean feel. Silversands Boutique Hotel has just over 50 suites and villas, all with the backdrop of Grand Anse Beach. With a 339-foot infinity pool, spa, beach club, two restaurants, a rum & cigar lounge, included Wi-Fi and so much more this is sure to be the spot for those seeking a little solitude in 2019!

Croatia

Europe is always popular with our clients - especially the “must-see” destinations like Paris, Venice and Ireland. Over the last few years, however, we have seen a shift to smaller, lesser traveled destinations and 2019 is no different! Switzerland and Iceland have gained huge traction - but the largest increase in request may be to Croatia. Perched on the Adriatic Sea just opposite the east coast of Italy, Croatia has some amazing scenery and can be visited, albeit quickly, in about 8-12 days. In fact, Globus has a great tour - The Croatian - that spends overnights in Dubrovnik (pictured), Split, Zadar, Opatija, Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Zagreb and includes most meals, sightseeing and transportation.
